Mary is a Resource Specialist III with the Texas A&M Forest Service since 2001.
She works in the Mitigation/Prevention Department and conducts homeowner education programs involving defensible space concepts that include Firewise, Fire Adapted Communities, Home Assessments and Wildfire Prevention across Texas. In addition, she also conducts wildland firefighter training across the state. Mary is the Fire Chief with the Elk Volunteer Fire Department in McLennan since 1999 and has over 30 years of firefighting experience. She grew up in Bastrop County and is involved in the County’s recovery programs.
