2026 Annual Ethics Lunch Meeting Recap
On August 20, 2026, members gathered in Austin for our Annual Ethics Lunch Meeting, hosted at the ERIS Business Office, with additional participants joining virtually. This hybrid format allowed professionals across the industry to engage in a meaningful and timely discussion on ethics in the geoscience profession.
This year’s session was led by Gordon Magenheim, Compliance and Outreach Manager for the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists (TBPG). Gordon delivered a thorough, highly informative presentation titled “Ethics for Professional Geoscientists: An Overview of Ethics and the TBPG Code of Professional Conduct and Compliance Process.” His expertise and clarity provided attendees with a deeper understanding of both the ethical expectations and regulatory responsibilities that guide geoscience professionals in Texas.
With a full in‑person room and strong virtual participation, this year’s Ethics Lunch Meeting demonstrated the value of accessible professional development. Thank you to ERIS for provided an excellent setting for this year’s Ethics Lunch Meeting.
