Topic: Brownfields in Texas: Redevelopment and Revitalization through State Programs
This will be an in-person meeting with no virtual option.
Presentation Summary:
This presentation will explore the funding opportunities available to Texas communities through the Brownfield Response Program at the Railroad Commission of Texas, as well as through the EPA’s Brownfields Program. The presentation will outline who qualifies for funding and what properties are eligible. Following this introduction to the Program, the presentation will provide detailed information pertaining to two successfully remediated Brownfield sites. This information will include a summary of the recognized environmental conditions identified at the sites, the assessment activities conducted, as well as the cleanup strategies that were
implemented.
Bio:
Mr. Peter Pope is the Manager of the Site Remediation Section, Oil & Gas Division, Railroad Commission of Texas. He has a BS in Geology from Purdue University and a MA in Geology from Rice University. Mr. Pope has over 25 years of experience practicing hydrogeology and performing risk-based environmental assessments for private industry and public sector clients. He has worked for the Railroad Commission of Texas since September 2001.
