The Mickey Leland Environmental Internship Program (MLEIP), administered by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2021. This milestone is significant because it signals the placement of almost 2,400 students who have launched their career via MLEIP; many of them are now in leadership and scientific/technical positions across the country. The MLEIP honors the work and legacy of former U.S. Congressman George “Mickey” Leland by providing college students with opportunities to learn from and network with industry leaders.

Summer intern, Juanita Baldwin, TCEQ Outreach Coordinator for the MLEIP will be working with you and/or your HR department. The process is very easy.

Whether your organization has an established internship program or you simply hire one or two college interns in the summer, we can help by forwarding student applications to you at no charge! We’ve done the recruiting for you.

Women’s History Month, observed annually in the U.S. throughout the month of March since 1987, is a celebration of women’s contributions to history, culture, and society.
